Veterans Day 2016 – Resources and Freebies For Veterans

Veterans Day 2016 Resources and Freebies

Armistice Day? Ever hear of it or ever wonder why we will celebrate Veterans day on Nov. 11th?

Veterans day originated in U.S. history as Armistice Day. Armistice Day was the celebration of the end of World War 1, when the treaty (Armistice) was signed on November 11. It was a holiday to commemorate the heroism of those that died for our country.

However, in 1954, Armistice Day was changed to “Veterans Day.” This was done in an effort to pay tribute to our veterans from all U.S. wars. This tradition continues even now, and as you know Veterans Day 2016 is fast approaching.

While you are celebrating, please keep in mind that we don’t celebrate Veterans Day for fun and games. We do it because we believe in our military and their sacrifices. We believe we wouldn’t have the freedoms we have if it weren’t for their sacrifice.

Finally, onto the good stuff! We are not the only ones that believe in our Veterans. Many organizations and businesses feel the same way. In the spirit of celebration and thanks, several companies are offering a ton of resources and freebies for Veterans Day 2016.
