Recently, Veterans Assembled electronics had the honor of receiving the 2015 Chapter Excellence Award from ETA. As a veteran-owned small business that offers intensive five-month training programs for service-disabled veterans, VAe provides veterans with many of the available ETA credentials. Our Skills Training and Certification Program (STRAC™) prepares veterans to ease into civilian employment with the ability to demonstrate core competencies required by the industry. This ETA award is a proud achievement for VAe as a company.
Since 1978, the Electronics Technicians Association (ETA) has represented the entire electronics industry from technicians to educators. The organization offers 80 different certification programs in various fields of technology. Professionals who earned their certification with ETA now work for some of the country’s most respected companies, such as Google and Motorola. Nearly half of the people who take an ETA certification exam are electronics technicians.
Both Veterans Assembled electronics and ETA recognize the value of their cooperative partnership. After joining ETA, the leadership at VAe collectively decided to establish local chapters at each of its VAe training sites. Membership in ETA benefits past and current VAe students when they join the organization themselves. Both VAe and ETA offer ongoing support for veterans, even after they graduate from the program and start their new careers.
We want to thank ETA for awarding the ETA Chapter Excellence award. Going forward, VAe looks forward to continuing our relationship with ETA and to leverage new credentials as they become available. ETA credentials improve the career trajectory of veterans in our training program. VAe and ETA continue to work with industry partners to develop skill sets and industry standards that are currently in demand. For veterans that want to advance their careers, ETA certifications are one the best ways to get noticed.
